The Liberty-Chambers Counties Community Supervision and Corrections Department currently operates a County Correctional Facility/Intermediate Sanctions Facility. Funding for this facility is received from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Community Justice Assistance Division.

The program is a 24 bed all male facility housing defendants who have shown to be in violation of probation conditions and who have been placed in this residential facility by courts of our jurisdiction and from other surrounding jurisdictions. The normal placement lasts anywhere from six months up to twenty- four months.

While in the program defendants participate in a well rounded curriculum of community service restitution, life skills training, educational enhancement and cognitive programs such as "Thinking for Change" and a substance abuse education program called "A New Direction". Security is provided by a private corrections corporation with whom the department contracts for bed space. Community Service Restitution is supervised by department personnel or local county agencies.
