The Liberty-Chambers Counties Community Supervision and Corrections Department is a State/Locally funded organization serving the 75th, 253rd and 344th Judicial District Courts along with the Liberty County Court at Law and the County Courts of both Liberty and Chambers Counties, Texas.

We supervise felony and misdemeanor defendants placed on community supervision both out of our courts and also those defendants who are transferred into this jurisdiction from other agencies under a series of progressive sanctions.

This department operates under the standards promulgated by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Community Justice Assistance Division and under the direct supervision of the Board of Judges for this jurisdiction.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Liberty-Chambers Counties Community Supervision and Corrections Department is to provide, as mandated by Article 42.13 Code of Criminal Procedure, a Community Corrections Department that will enhance the protection of the public through the implementation of a continuum of court ordered sanctions and services.

The department's corrections philosophy is to:

  1. Hold offenders accountable for their actions.
  2. Involve local agencies and citizens in the planning and evaluation of programs to insure that local needs are met.
  3. To provide offenders with programs and opportunities to correct behavioral problems and become prosocial members of the community.
  4. To develop staff through training to insure quality supervision of offenders.
  5. To explore innovative solutions that match the needs of the local correctional systems.
